I am a post-doctoral researcher in Digital Technologies, Democratic Governance and Policy at the Hasso-Plattner-Institut, Universität Potsdam, and a digital democracy expert at Democracy Reporting International in Berlin. I hold a PhD in Political Science from Georgia State University, with subfields in comparative politics and research methods.
My research concerns how digital technology affects public opinion and political institutions, with a particular interest in populism and polarisation. Methodologically I work in computational social science: machine learning and language models, causal inference, and survey experiments. This work has appeared in the Journal of Computational Social Science and in volumes published by Routledge and Oxford University Press.
Before moving to Germany I spent several years as an institutional relations consultant in the United States, and was a graduate research fellow with the Democracy Program at the Carter Center.
An initial discussion of a possible project carries no charge. If a request falls outside my areas of work, I will say so, and suggest a colleague where I can.
